Canoe Polo Come and Try

Geelong Canoe Club is running a free Canoe Polo Come & Try session to introduce participants to the sport in a fun and safe environment.

Canoe polo is played by two teams of five players on a rectangular playing pitch that can be in open water or in a swimming pool. Matches are played over two halves of 10 minutes with the aim to score into a goal which is suspended above the water at each end of the pitch. The ball in canoe polo is the same that is used in water polo, and can be controlled by hand or by paddle.

Kayaking experience an advantage, but not essential.

Participants can attend at any time during the session for as long as they like, subject to demand for places.

Under 18 participants are required to have a parent/guardian in attendance.

Bring clothing suitable for paddling, such as a bike or board shorts, long sleeved top or rash vest, hat, and sunscreen. Participants should also bring a towel, change of clothes and a drink bottle. Life vests will be provided and will be worn at all times on the water.
