Another local building company has been forced to shut up shop, reportedly impacting 50 would-be homeowners across the state, including some in the Geelong region.
Point Cook based Chatham Homes has been forced to immediately lay-off 16 staff while also owing 200 creditors around $2 million, after going into voluntary liquidation on Monday.
According to their website, the company builds in Geelong and the Surf Coast and currently have a display home in Lara.
The company was also active in Ballarat and many Melbourne suburbs, with media reports also suggesting the builders didn’t take out insurance for a number of customers.
Insolvency firm AS Advisory has been appointed as the company’s liquidator.
