Armstrong Creek’s library has officially opened.
The near 22 million dollar facility was officially opened yesterday by the City of Greater Geelong council.
The facility includes 30,000 books and resources, as well as a media studio.
Council mayor Trent Sullivan says it’s a great outcome for the area.
“This is a special building that will support reading and learning, and also serve as a central gathering place for the Armstrong Creek community,” he said.
“We’re now delighted to hand the building over to the Geelong Regional Library Corporation to open the doors to the community.”
Member for Western Victoria Gayle Tierney spoke of the value of the new facility.
“Libraries are vital hubs where ideas flourish and learning thrives, underscoring our commitment to education and inclusivity,” she said.
“This space will bring residents together to learn, create, and grow. I commend everyone involved and look forward to the positive impact this library will have on our community.”
