Arrests over chicks allegedly stolen from poultry farm

Two people have been arrested after the alleged theft of baby chicks from a farm in Anakie.

Police allege the offenders gained entry to the Carrs Road poultry farm around 11pm on Saturday 8 November.

A 34-year-old Southbank man and 31-year-old St Kilda woman have been arrested on Thursday.

The pair have been charged with burglary, theft, contravening a prescribed biosecurity measure and publishing material about the commission of a relevant offence.

They’ve been handed a Thursday court appearance.
