Footage has emerged of an assault outside a Geelong nightclub.
The video – which has appeared on local social media – shows a man punching a woman while a security guard tries to intervene.
Police confirmed an investigation was ongoing.
“Officers attended an address on Moorabool Street to reports of an assault outside a licensed premises about 12.30am,” a spokesperson said.
“It is believed an 18-year-old Curlewis woman got into a verbal altercation with a man when she was assaulted.”
The woman was taken to hospital, and a 29-year-old Corio man is expected to be interviewed by police.
“No arrests have been made and investigations are ongoing,” the spokesperson said.
