A major milestone is coming up for Avalon Airport – the 20th anniversary of the first Jetstar flight to the local airport.

The first flight from Sydney arrived in June, 2004, just weeks after the budget airline took to Australian skies.

Airport CEO Tony Brun said it was a significant milestone, particularly after seeing Bonza go into administration.

“We hope that the success continues with Brisbane to really reinforce the point that there are lot more routes – Hobart Adelaide.

“We alos need to get Perth back in.
