Ticket sales are strong for Jetstar flights to Bali from Avalon.
The local airport will reclaim its international status on Monday, when the flights take off.
The international terminal has been laying dormant since 2020, when Covid hit and AirAsia stopped flights to Malaysia.
Avalon Airport CEO Ari Suss said Bali was a popular destination.
“It’s popular for Australians but particularly for Victorians,” he said.
“We know Victorians love going to Bali and I think one of the really good things here is Jetstar’s really recognised what the community wants.”
Mr Suss said the airport continued to talk to other airlines.
“We hope there’s other opportunities around new cities, new destinations with Jetstar as well, but of course we want to see other airlines come here, and we’re pursing that as well.”
Jetstar is also increasing its domestic services from Avalon, re-introducing Adelaide flights from next week.
