Surf Coast Shire will make changes to their bin collection for the Christmas period.
With Christmas Day falling on a Thursday and Boxing Day on a Friday, council will shift bin collection a day forward.
People who were due to have their bins collected on Christmas will now have them collected on Friday, and those due on Friday will be collected on Saturday as a one off.
Normal services will resume on Monday the 29th.
Councillor Paul Barker said it was essential to make changes as extra rubbish was created over the holidays.
“We know that many people accumulate extra rubbish across the Christmas-New Year period, so these extra collections will help households manage this.”
Council will also run extra collections over the period, with details available on council’s website.
