Trains have resumed along the entirety of the Geelong line, after coaches replaced trains for part of the journey on Tuesday morning.
Trains were suspended between Wyndham Vale and Lara stations, with buses replacing services between the two local stops.
Train services between Southern Cross and Wyndham Vale, and Lara and Waurn Ponds continued to run.
The latest disruption follows a track fault at Little River on Wednesday that saw services impacted, with repairs underway on Tuesday morning to resolve the issue.
The Department of Transport released a statement, advising travelers of the works.
“We ask passengers to check station platform displays and listen for announcements, and to allow additional time for their travel,” it read.
“We ask motorists to be vigilant for extra coaches and pedestrians around stations along the Geelong Line.”
