Teachers at a Wyndham secondary school are asking for permanent security guards.
Four staff at Tarneit Senior College were assaulted while trying to protect a student from an attack last month.
Several people were arrested over the after-school assault.
Teachers want the protection to deter future incidents.
One staff member said they were angry at a letter to the school community, saying a security audit found the school’s security was highly satisfactory.
“Most of us feel unsafe coming to work,” the staffer told the Herald Sun.
Other Melbourne schools have also asked for full-time protection.
