Three people have been charged following a series of alleged vehicle thefts.
Police say the cars were targeted on Thursday night as people were attending a bingo event.
It’s alleged 10 cars had windows smashed and items stolen while the cars were parked in the Beckley Park carpark between 8pm and 8.45pm.
“It is alleged items including handbags, personal items and registration plates were stolen from the vehicles,” police said in a statement.
“It may not have been on the Bingo card of four people, when they were arrested in Corio on Saturday morning.
“Two search warrants were executed in Lara and Corio, where police seized allegedly stolen items including a car, registration plates, tools and electronics equipment.”
Three people were hit with a series of charges – a fourth person was interviewed and released without charge.
One person – a 42-year-old man was remanded on a series of charges and will face court today.
Two others will face court in February.
