Police have charged a 16 year old boy over a fatal crash in Corio yesterday.
A front seat passenger died after their car slammed into a pole on School Road around 2am.
“Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives have charged a teen after a fatal crash in Corio early this morning,” police said in a statement.
“Emergency services were called to reports of a Mazda sedan crashing into a pole on School Road about 2am.
“The front seat passenger of the vehicle, 17-year-old boy from the Greater Geelong area, died at the scene.
“A 16-year-old boy from the greater Geelong area, alleged to be the driver, has been charged with culpable driving, dangerous driving cause death and other driving offences.”
