Darren Cheesman has been accused of protecting the state government, despite sitting in Victoria’s parliament as an independent.
The member for South Barwon was booted from the Labor party earlier this year, over allegations of inappropriate behaviour towards female staff.
He returned to parliament this week and sat in question time on Wednesday.
However Liberal member for Polwarth Richard Riordan said Mr Cheeseman was asking ‘Dorothy Dixer’ questions, which are considered friendly to the government.
“He has declared once and for all that he’s not an independent,” Mr Riordan said.
“He is in fact a Labor member in disguise.
“To think he has wasted valuable time in the parliament protecting a corrupt and disingenuous government in order to save his own skin.”
