A chicken has been arrested in the Geelong CBD.
The bird – described by witnesses as small with white feathers and red accents – was arrested by members of Geelong Police while crossing the road yesterday.
“Constable Bella Cooke and Senior Constable Matt Richards were on Geelong CBD foot patrols when they observed a chicken crossing the road,” a police statement said.

“The chicken was taken in custody and issued with an infringement notice for jaywalking, tagged and released.”
Police said their efforts to stamp out fowl behaviour are ongoing.
