City continues fight against fourth kerbside bin

The fight against the mandatory introduction of a fourth kerbside bin continues in Greater Geelong.

The City of Greater Geelong has taken to social media, asking residents their thoughts of a purple bin for glass recycling.

The local council says there are better ways to managing glass, including expanding the Container Deposit Scheme to include more glass products.

It says introducing a fourth bin could cost more than $8.5 million dollars, around almost $5.5 million each year for operating costs.
