Cleanup begins for Great Ocean Road

Works continue to repair stretches on and around the Great Ocean Road following Thursday’s flash flooding.

The stretch between Skenes Creek and Lorne began to partially reopen on Saturday following the flooding.

A community information warning remains in place as the cleanup continues.

“Water quality may be impacted by previous flash flooding from Lorne to Kennet River on the Great Ocean Road,” VicEmergency said.

“Avoid contact with floodwater and debris, do not let pets swim in or drink the water.”

Wye River Pedestrian Bridge remains closed, while the Cumberland River Holiday Park remains closed.

Parts of the Great Otway National Park remain closed.

A community advice message is also in place for a grass fire in the Anakie area.
