Cops probe deadly blaze

Emergency services have attended a fatal fire in Lorne.

Police are still trying to work out the cause of a weekend housefire at Apollo Bay claimed the life of one of the residents.

The blaze broke out at a homr in Diana Street at approximately 12.30am on Saturday.

Firefighters dragged a 40-year-old man from the property and commenced CPR, however he was unable to be revived.

Two other men managed to escape the burning building and were treated by paramedics at the scene.

Meantime a fire that seriously damaged a pizza store in Corio is believed to be suspicious.

Fire crews were called late Saturday night after flames were spotted leaping through the roof of the Dominos outlet on Melbourne Road.

Fire Rescue Victoria said the blaze had spread to the roof area by the time they arrived.
