Police are continuing to crack down on drivers failing to keep left on major roads.

He was fined $198 and lost two demerit points.

The 42-year-old told police he did not realise he was travelling in the right lane for so long.

“Just talkin’ with friends – didn’t realise,” he said.

Drivers are being reminded they need to keep out of the right lane on a multi-lane road where there is a speed limit of 80km/h or over unless they are overtaking.
