Golden Plains Shire has started fire hazard inspections as it prepares for the upcoming fire danger period.
The CFA is getting ready for a potential early start to restrictions, due to below average rainfall over winter.
The local council says it will inspect townships, and identify any properties with grass that needs cutting or slashing.

A Fire Prevention Notice will be handed to those with long grass, with the works to be completed sometime in early December.
The property also needs to be maintained during the Fire Danger Period.
Anyone who fails to carry out the work may be fined almost $2000.
