Locals have taken advantage of the free two-hour parking sessions across Geelong’s CBD.
Figures show more than 422,000 free parking sessions have been used since the initiative started nearly five months ago.
Mayor Stretch Kontelj said a new map had been released to ensure more locals and visitors are taking advantage.
“More people could be making the most of this free initiative as they shop for Christmas presents, dine, run errands, meet with friends or visit a gallery or the Floating Christmas Tree,” Cr Kontelj said.
People are still being reminded they need to adhere to the time limits for on-street parking.
Jeremy Crawford from the Geelong Chamber of Commerce also supported the free parking initiative.
“We’re seeing a bit more foot traffic and really some activation across the CBD, which is driving people to come in and shop around and have a look at the retail.” he said.
