Fruit, hose used in neighbour dispute

A Torquay man has been charged after getting into a fight with his neighbour over smoke from a chimney filling an adjacent house.

Police say the dispute happened at an address along The Esplanade, resulting in one man being charged with Disorderly Conduct.

The argument supposedly escalated to the point where threats were made and rotten fruit and a garden hose were used.

The male offender was also referred to Council.

Police have reminded locals that smoke complaints can be lodged with Council who will investigate.
