Geelong bus network hit by strikes

Geelong’s bus network is set to be hit by driver strikes, impacting two of the state’s biggest operators.

CDC Victoria services across Geelong won’t run on Wednesday May 28.

The industrial action will also see a number of local school bus services cancelled.

Public Transport Victoria says impacted schools will be notified.

Local services that won’t run: Routes 1, 10, 11, 12, 19, 20, 22, 23, 24, 25, and 43.

The Trade Workers’ Union said in a statement that employees of CDC Victoria and Dyson Group are seeking improvements on rostering, safety, and pay.

Buses are expected to continue as usual from the first service on Thursday.
