A frost warning has been issued for the Geelong region, as the city faces one of its coldest mornings in years.
Avalon fell to -1 this morning, but felt more like -4.9 degrees at times.
Geelong was also chilly at two degrees while it has been a little warmer on the Surf Coast at seven degrees.

The Bureau of Meteorology says temperatures at ground level can be colder than those recorded by standard weather stations.
It will not be getting much warmer during the day despite the mostly sunny conditions, with a top of just 12 degrees forecast for the city.
