CFA crews have been kept busy called to several grassfires in the last 24 hours.
They included a blaze in Deans Marsh on Monday.
Crews from Lorne, Aireys Inlet, Deans Marsh, Birregurra and Winchelsea turned out to quickly bring the flames under control.
The Lorne Fire Brigade says it is a timely reminder that fires can happen at any time.
The CFA is holding a Bush Fire Safety afternoon on Saturday, November 18 at Lorne Community House from 2pm.
It says it is a great time for coastal residents to discuss their fire plan and how they can be prepared for the upcoming fire season.
The fire danger period for Greater Geelong, the Surf Coast Shire, Golden Plains and Borough of Queenscliffe will start on Monday.
