Two younger boys aged six and 11, also from Hoppers Crossing, were taken to hospital with serious injuries, along with a 43-year-old man from Altona Meadows.

Police are still investigating the exact circumstances but believe the two bikes, and possibly a quad bike, came to grief at around 6.30pm on Sunday.

They are appealing for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to get in touch.

The deaths happened on a horror Father’s Day on Victoria’s roads inwhich four people lost their lives.

On Sunday morning a passer-by discovered the body of a 44-year-old man in the wreckage of a car after it hit a tree at Arcadia in the Goulbourn Valley.
