There are again calls for the removal of a level crossing at North Shore after a near miss on Saturday night.
A car was hit by a train just after 8pm on Saturday night, thankfully after the elderly driver was able to exit the car.
It’s believed the car became stuck on the tracks – no one was injured.
Public Transport Users Association’s Jarred Crowe told NewsCorp the crossing needed to go.
“It is extremely concerning to see the Geelong Line again suspended due to yet another accident at this danger-prone level crossing,” Mr Crowe said.
“The PTUA reaffirms the urgent need to remove this crossing, which has experienced more than its fair share of incidents.”
