There are reports of Microsoft IT outages affecting major banks, supermarkets and other businesses in Australia and internationally.
The outages were first detected around 3pm Friday, causing Microsoft software to crash.
All V/Line services have been cancelled until further notice, including on the Geelong line.
The website says “no V/Line rail services are operating due to an external communications fault. Passengers are asked to please defer travel.”

Media outlets including this radio station and major TV networks Seven and Nine have been affected by the outages.
The National Cyber Security Coordinator Michelle McGuinness took to social media platform ‘X’ to provide an update.
“I am aware of a large-scale technical outage affecting a number of companies and services across Australia this afternoon,” the post read.
“Our current information is this outage relates to a technical issue with a third-party software platform employed by affected companies.”
Woolworths supermarkets have also reported a standstill at the checkout.
Error messages are stopping customers from using self-serve machines.
