A man has been caught hiding in a backyard after escaping police custody outside University Hospital Geelong.
Police say the man was being put into a vehicle on Ryrie Street around 10.45am Tuesday, when he allegedly assaulted two officers and ran off.
The 30-year-old was found shortly after in the backyard of a Swanston Street property.

He has since been charged with assaulting police and escaping police custody.
