A man has been arrested after trying to avoid police in Wyndham.
Officers first noticed a van in Tarneit late last night, but say the driver sped off when they tried to intercept the vehicle.
The police helicopter was used to monitor the van, which allegedly reached speeds of up to 130km/h in areas including Werribee, Tarneit and Point Cook.

Stop sticks were on the corner of Hackets and Sneydes Roads, with the driver dumping the van at the Tarneit Train station and running off.
A 40-year-old Hoppers Crossing man was arrested a short time later.
He has since been charged with offences including car theft and dangerous driving.
The man was remanded to face Werribee Magistrates’ Court today.
