New bus route announced for Bellarine

The Victorian government is planning to pump more money into public transport in next week’s state budget, with Geelong to benefit.

$100 million is being allocated to expand bus services, with the government saying it is about helping with cost-of-living pressures.

The funding will include a new route connecting Drysdale and Ocean Grove.

Forty-four per cent of resondents to a recent local review were from the Bellarine.

Labor has already announced plans for motorists to save 20 per cent on their car registrations, as well as money to fix around 200,000 potholes across Victoria.

The state budget is due to be handed down on May 6.
