Gross will be one of 75 athletes to represent Australian in Paris, including former Geelong Grammar graduate Lauren Ryan who will run the 10km and 5000m.
Australian Olympic team Chef de Mission Anna Meares said she ewas proud of the team.
“This highlights the great depth nurtured across the country and I want to pay tribute to the entire team at Athletics Australia for delivering a high-performance program that is achieving outstanding results,” she said.
“The Athletics team is the largest of any sport and they will contribute greatly to the positive environment of the broader Australian Olympic Team.
“Today’s announcement finalises our Australian Olympic Team at 460 athletes – I am so excited for Australians to see this Team represent them with pride and determination in under three weeks’ time.”
