Pair arrested over firearms investigation

Two people have been arrested as part of a firearms investigation.

A man was arrested on Myers Street around 11am Friday, with officers allegedly finding a gun and drugs in a car they believe belonged to the man.

Officers also searched a property on Geelong West around 11.45am, with a woman arrested at the scene.

Police also seized items including ammunition, drugs and cash.

The area around Clonard Avenue was taped off, after what appeared to be an improvised explosive device was found in a nearby car.

Officers say the device was rendered safe by the Bomb Squad.

A storage shed in Breakwater was also searched, with a 3D printer and 3D printed firearms seized.

A 30-year-old man and 33-year-old woman will be interviewed by detectives, with investigations continuing.
