Pair charged over road rage incident

A Wyndham teenager is one of two people charged over a road rage incident in Melbourne’s north-west.

Police say a white Falcon was involved in an incident at Derrimut in the early hours of Saturday before following a second vehicle shortly after the dispute.

Someone in the Falcon allegedly waved an axe ouf of the car and swung it towards the other car, ramming it before taking off.

Police found the Ford later in the morning, saying the driver was reaching speeds of up to 180km/h.

Stop sticks were used on the Western Freeway before the car stopped in Bacchus Marsh and two occupants were arrested.

A 16-year-old boy from Wyndham VAle is charged with offences including dangerous driving, speeding, assault with a weapon and handling stolen goods.

He will face a childrens’ court down the track.

A 19-year-old man from Navigators, south east of Ballarat, is also charged with offences inclduing reckless conduct endangerious serious injury and criminal damage.

He has been bailed to face Sunshine Magistrates’ Court in June.
