Person trapped in Corio collision

Emergency services have been called to a two-vehicle collision in Corio, with concerns occupants may have been trapped.

It happened on the corner of the Princes Highway and St Georges Road around 1.20pm Monday.

Fire Rescue Victoria says crews arrived within four minutes, to find one patient was out of the vehicle, but a second person was tapped.

They worked to free the person before both patients were taken to hospital.

However, the collision has caused traffic delays.

Ambulance Victoria crews were also called to a collision between a car and minibus at Gellibrand Lower just before midday.

Eleven people were injured in the Great Ocean Road collision, with one to be flown to Melbourne’s Alfred Hospital with serious, but non-life threatening injuries.

The other ten suffered non-life threatening injuries and will be taken to University Hospital Geelong.
