Police are continuing to investigate a Truganina house fire that claimed the life of an innocent woman.
27-year-old Katie Tangey was house sitting on Dover Street in January when it’s believed the house became the victim of a targeted tobacco wars attack in a case of mistaken address.
Police have executed a search warrant at a home in Dandenong, aided by anonymous reports to Crime Stoppers.
No arrests were made, but a number of mobile phones were seized for forensic analysis.
Detective Inspector Chris Murray from the Arson and Explosives Squad said they’re determined to provide what closure and justice they can to Miss Tangey’s family.
“I would like to thank those who have already provided information to us via Crime Stoppers, but please, we need you to come forward with additional information,” he said.
“We know this is solvable, and we know we are getting closer. If you know absolutely anything, I cannot implore you enough to find it in yourself to do the right thing and come forward.”
Police continue to urge anyone with information to get in contact with Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au.
