Police are talking to locals sleeping rough in Geelong, hoping to get them out of the cold during the colder months.
Officers have received a number of calls from residents regarding homeless people near the Barwon River.
Bike patrols have been stepped up in areas along the Barwon, talking to those who have fallen on tough times.
