An investigation is underway following a fire at a vacant property in Corio.
Emergency services called to a Bacchus Marsh Road property around 7pm last night.
No one was at the property at the time.
FRV said crews were required just before 7.
“Firefighters arrived on scene within six minutes to find a small fire outside an abandoned house and worked quickly to extinguish the flames,” a statement said.
“Firefighters also found a mattress fire inside the property.
“Crews conducted a primary search of the premises, finding no individuals inside.
“The incident was deemed under control at 6.56pm.
“Crews remained on scene to check for fire extension and ensure the safety of the area.”
Police have called for anyone with information or CCTV footage from the area to speak with police or call Crimestoppers.
