Police have launched an investigation into a house fire and business ram raid in Truganina.

FRV were first called to a blaze on Cabarita Street just before 5am on Wednesday, arriving within four minutes to find a double-storey townhouse fully alight.

Crews were forced to tackle the flames from outside due to the intensity of the fire and concerns over the structural integrity of the home.

Nobody was inside at the time, with the scene declared under control about half an hour after firefighters arrived.

The blaze was deemed suspicious and police believe the same offenders attempted a ram raid at a Doherty’s Road business in the minutes following.

It’s understood offenders arrived in a Toyota vehicle, ramming the front of the building several times and setting the vehicle alight.

An arson chemist will attend both scenes across the day.

Police have asked anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or via www.crimestoppersvic.com.au.
