More than 4,000 homes and businesses around Lara are without power.
Powercor crews are investigating an issue at North Shore, which was reported around 10am Monday.
It is expecting to have power back on by 11.30am.
Jordan Oliver from the organisation said they would let customers know if there were any changes.
Meantime, he encouraged residents to ensure devices were powered during today’s heat.
“We are expecting strong winds and even possible thunderstorms to come through with that (cold) front later on this evening,” he said.
“With all these conditions combining, it’s possible that power outages will happen.
“So we’re asking customers to prepare, charge your devices, know where to get your information.”
