Locals may have been awoken by a quake that hit north of Geelong in the early hours.
The 2.7 magnitude quake was reported south-west of Glenmore, near Bacchus Marsh just before 3am.
It was recorded at a depth of 10km, according to data on the Geoscience Australia website.

Ten people have reported to the authority of feeling the quake.
There have been no reports of injuries or any damage to buildings or other infrastructure.
