A rally’s being held in Geelong this weekend demanding an end to gendered violence.
The rally is wanting politicians to address the issue of violence that impacts women, disabled and indigenous people.
Ellen Mahoney’s speaking at the event and says men also need to be part of the conversation.
“We need men to come on board,” she said.
“Women are dying at such an alarming rate, and we need men to be part of this conversation.
“We need them to be active voices in this rhetoric, in this victim blaming mentality.”
She added it was important to protect our children.
“We are seeing alarming rates of misogynistic rhetoric in primary schools, with what people are consuming on TikTok and the like.
“It’s serious concern.”
The rally will be held on Sunday at the Market Square Mall from 11am.
