We are again bracing for a day of extreme fire danger across our region.
Much of the state – including the Central region that includes Geelong and the Surf Coast – sits under the extreme rating.
It’s also resulted in a total fire ban for the region being issued.

Senior Meteorologist Kevin Parkin says a south-westerly wind change will make things tricky.
“Those winds have the ability to carry fire through the landscape pretty quickly.”
No fires can be lit in the region until 11.59 tonight.
