More than two-thousand students from a number of local schools will be taking part in a program aimed at looking after mental health.
The Resilience Project has teamed up with the Geelong Football Club and GMHBA to hold the event this week.
Martin Heppell from the Resilience Project says they’ll be sharing tips on looking after mental health to six local schools.
“We want them to know they are awesome how they are,” he said.
“And we want them to be comfortable in their own skin. But we also want them to know that if things don’t go right, there are supports and processes they can put in place.”
Mr Heppell praised the Cats for their involvement, saying having players on board with the program had a major impact.
“For any kids to know they aren’t alone is really important,” he said.
“But more than that, to have people they know and look up to buy in makes a huge difference.
“And it can especially make a difference for them to see these people they know and see they may have been through similar things when they were that age. It really does have an impact.”
