A school aged child has been taken to hospital with several broken bones after colliding with a tree while riding their mountain bike in the You Yangs on Sunday.
Emergency crews were called to to the You Yangs National Park around 2.10pm, to find the child with multiple bone fractures.
Firefighters alongside SES crews needed to help extract them out of the area and onto a stretcher, they were carried to a location where paramedics could assess them.

The child was then taken to the Royal Children’s Hospital in a stable condition.
