Safe at Home pilot to launch

A pilot program aimed at helping victim survivors of family violence stay in their own home is being delivered in Geelong.

The Safe at Home pilot will provide tailored support and safety assessments with local MPs saying it’s about prioritsing victim survivors.

Member for Bellarine Alison Marchant says helping victims remain in their homes is a huge step.

“We know that one of the biggest changes we can make to someone experiencing family violence is supporting them to stay in the home,” she said.

“That is what this pilot will deliver in the Geelong region.”

Member for Geelong Christine Couzens added the service would provide a vital service locally, stopping homelessness, and informing statewide response to family violence.
