Two students have been taken to hospital, struck by a vehicle while crossing a road in East Geelong.

The pair were hit while crossing Ormond Road at traffic lights on the corner of Humble Street around 8:15am on Friday.

Saint Ignatius College has notified the school community of the incident involving two of their students, saying minor injuries have been reported with the two safe and okay at University Hospital Geelong.

A male child sustained an upper body injury while a teenage girl suffered a lower body injury, both of them in stable conditions.

The letter from Principal Michael Exton to parents and carers said they’re providing support to the family involved.

“We recognise that witnessing or being present during an event like this can be distressing, even for students who were not directly involved,” it read.

“Your child may arrive home today feeling unsettled, quiet, or wanting to talk about what they saw or heard. This is a completely normal response.”
