A Tarneit man has been arrested for impersonating a police officer.
The 29-year-old is alleged to be one of two men who attended a Clayton South property last month pretending to be police, before one produced a gun and assaulted a person at the home.
The man was arrested in Footscray late in March.
“It is alleged that police recovered a handgun and a quantity of methyl-amphetamine at the property,” police said in a statement.
“As part of the ongoing investigation detectives executed a search warrant at a Dow Street property in Port Melbourne in the days following.
“Officers allegedly seized a commercial quantity of methyl-amphetamine from the address in addition to arresting a 35-year-old Port Melbourne woman.
“Police arrested a 23-year-old Prahan man, alleged to be involved in the Clayton South burglary, at an address on Bay Street in Port Melbourne on Tuesday.
“The 29-year-old Tarneit man has been charged with over 35 offences including two counts of aggravated burglary with a firearm, impersonate police, assault and drug related offences.
“The 24-year-old Prahran man was charged with aggravated burglary with a firearm, impersonate police, assault and drug related offences.
“The 35-year-old Port Melbourne woman was charged with burglary and possess drug of dependence.”
The trio are set to face court across June and July.
