Farmers in two local shires will receive rate relief from the state government.
The state announcing primary producers in the Surf Coast and Golden Plains shires will receive a rebate around 40 per cent.
Regional Cities Victoria says while it was a great outcome, there was still a lot of fear around the state due to drought conditions.
RCV chair Shane Sali said it was a good outcome.
“Our agriculture sector is the backbone of our economy,” he said.
“Right now, they need all the support they can get – even with recent rains there is a long road to recovery ahead for Victoria’s primary producers and for the regional and rural economies that rely on them.
“We are committed to working with governments, on behalf of regional and rural Victorians, to ensure our regional cities see the right investment to support our growth.”
