Telstra disruptions during Wallington station upgrades

Telstra has commenced nine days of upgrades at the Wallington mobile base station, with locals warned of possible disruptions to service.

During the works, the station will need to be switched off for up to 12 hours.

The telco said the works will improve the site’s capacity, allowing for faster downloads, smoother streaming and less congestion.

It’s aimed at bringing users a better 4G/5G experience, with customers set to receive an SMS advising them of the impacts.

The works won’t imapct NBN, Satellite internet services, PSTN landline services, or mobile coverage from other providers. 

Calls to Triple Zero while the site is off air will automatically connect to another mobile network if available for connection to emergency services.
