Another busy morning for police out on local roads, with three cars impounded in the early hours of Saturday morning.
A 23-year-old Highton man was arrested around midnight, his red Mitsubishi Lancer clocked travelling 166km/h in a 100km/h zone.
Picked up on the Geelong Ring Road, Waurn Ponds, he’s set to receive court summons for charges including driving at a dangerous speed.
Just after 1am, police caught a white Ford AU Falcon doing 85km/h in a 70km/h zone on North Geelong’s Melbourne Road.
The 21-year-old from Bacchus Marsh’s car was found to be unsafe and unroadworthy, travelling with false plates, bald tyres, and fitted with an aftermarket steering wheel with no airbag.
Around 4am, police saw a red Holden Barina on the same road, it’s rear tail lights not working.
Upon speaking with the driver, they found the 43-year-old from Lara was driving with a disqualified license.
